About

             My name is Ashton Vermillion and I’m a senior at UNC from Durham, North Carolina, majoring in Advertising and Public Relations and minoring in Entrepreneurship. When I was six years old at my first swim team meet, I jumped into the swimming pool when all the other kids cried, that’s when I realized my risk tolerance was high. I took a leap of faith to attend Saint Mary’s School, an all-girls boarding school in Raleigh North Carolina. While there, I was recruited to play tennis, lacrosse and dance, where my leadership skills and team playing ability was formed. I held several leadership roles, such as being an International Student Prefect, where I used my communications skills to mentor students from various countries. While at UNC, I continued to push myself out of my comfort zone through studying abroad in Shanghai, China where I had a marketing and sales internship at a travel startup company known as Guiddoo World, which fostered my competitive drive, adaptability and self-motivation to succeed. I have gained advertising, social media and sales experience from a current part-time job at LeighDeux, a dormitory company based in Charlotte, NC. Through serving as a Shuford Ambassador, Study Abroad Ambassador and Marketing Chair for Kenan Flagler’s Family Business Club I have honed in on my public speaking, networking and organizational skills. My passion for engaging in meaningful conversations, pitching an idea or product, and traveling has inspired me to pursue a sales career in the rapidly growing technology industry after graduation.
